Sleep

Sleep is a crucial aspect of our wellbeing.

A bed that promotes good quality sleep for cancer survivors

INFORMATION

In our fast-paced world, it's often hard to take a break and relax. Getting a good night's sleep might feel like a distant idea. However, sleep is just as vital for your health as eating well and staying active. Proper sleep helps your brain work better, keeps your mood up, and benefits your overall health.

If you don't consistently get enough good sleep, it increases the chances of various diseases and problems. These can include things like heart disease, stroke, obesity, and memory issues.

Improve Your Sleep with Simple Steps
- Stick to a Schedule: Try to go to bed and wake up at the same times each day.
- Create Calming Routines: Before bed, do things that help you relax, like taking a warm bath or reading a book.
- Stay Active: Get regular exercise, but finish your workout at least two hours before bedtime.
- Eat Smart: Avoid big meals right before bed, but a small bedtime snack can be okay.
- Watch Caffeine and Nicotine: Don't have too much caffeine (like in coffee or soda) or nicotine (like in cigarettes). They can mess up your sleep.
- Skip the Alcohol: Alcohol can make you feel sleepy at first, but it can make your sleep worse later in the night.
- Short Naps: If you nap during the day, keep it under 30 minutes so it doesn't affect your nighttime sleep.
- Bedroom is for Sleep: Use your bedroom only for sleep, not for eating or watching TV. Make it dark, quiet, and comfy.

Taking these simple steps can help you get better sleep and feel more rested.
